Home | The Holocaust | World War II | Outcome

The memories for some, the stories and legacies for others, the war that turned the world upside down.  A time where people were hated for who they were, there was no changing that, only escaping from the wrath.  The lives of many innocent people, just taken...

The Holocaust was the systematics annihilation of six million Jews, by the man known as Adolf Hitler and the Nazis during WWII.  In 1933 an estimated nine million Jews lived in twenty one countries of Europe that would be military occupied by Germany during the war.  By 1945, two out of every three European Jews had been killed.  One and a half million children were murdered.  The horror and the torment that went on this period of time is not even plausable.

"Our many Jewish friends and acquaintances are being taken away in droves. The Gestapo is treating them very roughly and transporting them in cattle cars to Westerbork, the big camp in Drenthe to which they're sending all the Jews....If it's that bad in Holland, what must it be like in those faraway and uncivilized places where the Germans are sending them? We assume that most of them are being murdered. The English radio says they're being gassed." - Anne Frank
